Dr. Wehbie joined Cancer Centers of North Carolina in June 2002. A graduate of North Carolina State University, he completed an MD/PhD program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a doctorate in biochemistry. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of North Carolina as well as a fellowship in infectious diseases and hematology-oncology. He was an assistant professor of medicine at UNC Chapel Hill, where he was active in the gastrointestinal tumor program. Dr. Wehbie is board certified in internal medicine, infectious diseases and medical oncology and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He has published a host of articles in medical journals and several chapters in medical textbooks.
