Dr. Cromartie started with Cancer Centers of North Carolina in 2005 after serving as a hospitalist at Rex Hospital. Previously, Dr. Cromartie was partner and lead hematology and oncology physician with the Carolina Permanente Medical Group in Raleigh, where he served on its board of directors. He is a former medical director of Hospice of Wake County and has practiced medicine for 24 years. Dr. Cromartie received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed internships at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk and University Medical Service, New Hanover Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, NC. He then completed his residency at New Hanover Memorial Hospital, and fellowships in hematology-oncology and clinical coagulation at the School of Medicine of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
