Meredith is area’s only head and neck surgical oncologist
Raleigh, North Carolina (November 17, 2007) – Scott D. Meredith, M.D., has joined Cancer Centers of
North Carolina (CCNC)
as a head and neck surgical oncologist.
Dr. Meredith received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia. He served as a
Research Fellow NIH at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease in Bethesda, Maryland and completed hisfellowship in head and neck
surgical oncology as well as residencies in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery and general surgery at the University of Virginia School of
Medicine. Dr. Meredith is board certified in otolaryngology.
In addition to being the author of numerous peer reviewed publications, Dr. Meredith has served as Chairman of the National Home
Study Committee for continuing medical education, committee member for the American Board of Otolaryngology, and was recently invited to
serve as an oral board examiner for the American Board of Otolaryngology.
With the addition of Dr. Meredith, CCNC now has 14 medical oncologists, two radiation oncologists, and the area's only head and
neck surgical oncologist, making CCNC the Triangle’s largest group of cancer physicians in private practice. All of CCNC’s physicians have
admission privileges at all of the area’s hospitals.
